My name is Xing Zhi Li. I am from China. My first language is Cantonese. I am married. I have three children. They are all in China. I have been in America for 10 years. Now I live in a government housing project apartment building for the seniors. It is a 15-story tall building. I live on the 11th floor. My neighbors are Chinese, Korean, and Latino.

My neighborhood is quiet. Every day, we meet in the backyard of the building and say hello to each other. There is a small pond in the backyard with many colorful golden fish in it. Near the pond are some stone tables and chairs, green grass and beautiful flowers.

Transportation is easy and convenient. The bus stop is only two blocks from our building. There are some large buildings and a school on the street in front of my building. There is also a park behind my building. Not far away from my building there is a department store. But I usually go to Chinatown to do my grocery shopping because I need to buy Chinese food.

I am retired now, so I don’t work. I came to America in March, 1998. Before I came here, back in China, I worked in a health service.

My favorite hobby is keeping plants, practicing Qi Gong, watching TV and listening to Chinese music. My favorite TV programs are comedy and ballet.
